The company called Sport System Engineering shall be participating in the Paris-based Lépine invention contest from May 12th through May 22nd. It will present its three key products in the hope of quickly garnering needed sales outlets.
Rodolphe Brichet is altogether convinced. The Sport System Engineering director strongly believes that “something is about to happen” in the course of the most prestigious meeting of the year, the celebrated Concours Lépine. This event has long been held in high esteem by French inventors from all horizons: “Just think, 600,000 to 800,000 people are to be expected, it’s tremendous”, indicates a visibly awestruck Brichet.
For this human-sized business, the internationally renowned salon is taking place at just the right time. After having seen the light of day in 1998 at the Technopole of the Futuroscope, SSE is now nearing its goal by dint of three inventions: the Nooxi, a humanly propelled pedal-drawn toy vehicle, the Nagero, a training and muscle-building apparatus for professional swimmers, and a newly styled cardio-training device. “We will have not only a 6m² stand, but also the support of the contest president himself”, so admits Rodolphe Brichet.
The industrial upshot
It is this very president, Roger Dorey, who strongly urged the Poitiers-based manager to register for the 2005 edition. It should likewise be mentioned that in late January, SSE was the winner at the regional Lépine event, which took place this year in Poitiers. The award was largely obtained thanks to Nagero, an apparatus brought into being through partnership with the French swimming federation, the CAIPS (center for analyses of sports images and performances) and the laboratory of solids mechanics of Poitiers University. “This apparatus, which is meant to allow swimmers to train in a true-to-life situation outside of water, has also recently been validated as regards medical reeducation by the functional reeducation department of Poitiers Hospital”, states a detail-minded Rodolphe Brichet.
So it goes for cardio-training, as well. Having been tested by fifteen users in a Poitiers-based physical fitness center, the apparatus is likely to please more than just one lieutenant of industry. That, in any event, is what this aspiring engineering office presently misses the most: “As of now, we have worthy products, all we need is to make them known…”, sums up the SSE leader.
Let us bet that the French Lépine contest ( May 12th – May 22nd, 2005) and its German equivalent (October 2005) shall lend momentum to an innovatory enterprise having taken up residence at the Technopole. |
